Sea Kayaking and Whale Watching
Whales, whales and more whales. The first day we drive to Magdalena Bay and spend 2-3 hours in a panga (motorized skiff) surrounded by the Grey whales and their young calves in the breeding lagoon. These are the 'friendlies' that will come up to the skiff looking for contact from their land based brethren. We then return to the Sea of Cortez and the following day launch our kayaks for our paddling adventure in the National Marine Sanctuary around Carmen and Danzante Islands.
On the Sea of Cortez, we combine our Classic paddling adventures with daily panga excursions out to the Blue Whale Triangle where we regularly spot the largest mammals on earth. It is a breathtaking experience, to say the least.
A local naturalist that specializes in cetaceans will accompany this trip. The itinerary is similar to our Classic Islands Trip except that we will have two base camps so we have more time to see the Bue whales.
